Poor Picture, Great Bowl Pic 1

Cedar Bush? looks like cedar, smells like cedar but flat and twisted. Bowl is 11in in Dia.
Nice piece of wood.

You might've tried a blue backround to contrast the pink wood though, and keep the lighting sharp.

Good job!

I like the genre, as you can see by at least one I've posted. Allows you to do something with smaller chunks, too, or even, as in my case, presplit firewood. Only one question. Any skin off your knuckles?

Pretty wood, too.

Hey Michael, my knuckles are in great shape! I took quite a few hits when I first started turning so I've learned to really look over the work and pay attention to how it feels.

Good on you! Just checked mine, and Other than the super hangnail I ripped myself moving a couch through a narrow door and not watching hinges, they're fine. Look here later, perhaps I'll get a picture of the one I sanded before lunch. Weird!

I'd really suggest that you try using less color in your background. You want to call attention to the wood not the background. I have found that grey works best for me.
All the pieces are really nice. I especially like the walnut vase. I've never seen a cedar tree like youy describe but I suppose it's possible.
