Pierced Holly bowl

Pierced Holly bowl

This is my third crack at a pierced bowl. It is 6 1/2 inches in diameter and 2 1/2 inches tall. My second bowl was sold yesterday and we were sad to see it go, so I decided to turn another for the “house collection.” We’ll hang on to it until something we like better comes along.
Very nice Lou! My favorite of the three, by a good margin. I really appreciate the pattern you’ve created. Excellent work.

I love how thin you’ve gotten this Lou! Anyone who has pierced understands the importance of that. Most impressively, no burn marks on that white Holly! What tool did you pierce this with please?

Russ, thanks! I used a handheld micro motor tool that I inherited from my father who became a carver in his retirement. Small 3/32” shaft diamond tipped burrs.
