Pheasant Wood Bowl

5 3/4" x 1 1/2"
Nice form and pretty grain. The wall thickness appears to be about 1/4"??

One of the production turners on the Big Island had a piece of Pheasant wood stuck in a corner and forgotten. When he pulled it out to trun, it had signifcant spalting. With his poly-oil finish treatment, the piece was magnificent with parallel dark lines throughout the piece. If you have any left over, put it in a plastic bag for a few weeks and see what truns up.

Unforuately I don't have any more. I understand it's a Hawaiian (sp?) wood, so if you come across any I'll gladly purchase it and pay for shipping.

As for thickness, about the middle to the bottom is about 3/8" (could have been less I suppose) while the upper is 1/4" to 5/16".
