Maple Vase

maple vase - 10.5 inches tall, 5 inches +/- wide, with ogee detail on the base and a bevel at the very bottom for lift.

This piece of wood is so "plain jane" that I was a little disappointed with it, but you know the saying "wood is like a box of chocolates........you don't know what is inside until you open it."

I would like to have seen more figure in the grain, but is what it is.

If you don't like the finished product, it doesn't have to "finished". With such a large verticle surface there is plenty of room for embelishments. You could even use an opache airbrush paint and create an image on top of the finish (giving it some depth) to avoid having to remove it.
