maple bowl

12"x3.75" maple bowl. I didnt know what a spectacular piece of wood this was when I rough turned it. The outside wood didnt stand out and I found myself playing around with shape and different details. I did a foot unlike anything Ive done before. I then sat it aside for six months before going back to do the final turning.
Normally, I would have turned off all my experimentation and gone for a simple shape that left the wood showing its best aspect. I think I was hypnotized by the bowls spinning patterns and went with what I had started. Most of what Im talking about is on the outside, especially around the bottom. I hope people will pick this bowl up and turn it over. I think I would put it on a stand where I could show off the inside for a while and then turn it around and show off the outside. But , Ive been hypnotized.
