Bottom was burnt also with some carefully placed dye.

Nicely done. The rings on the bottom, are they groves done after the burning or are they inlay or paint? I like the dash of color.
 
Hi Bernie! You're right, the grooves were done after the burning. They kind of bleed in the photo, but are crisp in real life.
