I really like the way the grain is almost perfectly centered on this bowl. The wood for this bowl was a gift from a wood customer. I should have given him more consideration on the blanks he bought from me (I owe you one).
Honey locust is hard, but it sure finishes nice!
The low foot, though large enough to make the bowl a usable serving piece gives the bowl the illusion of floating (IMHO).

Finish: Olive Oil / Bee's Wax

Honey Locust is nice to work with. I turned my first bowl from it.

This is a great looking bowl. You marked it out well to get the grain centered as you did. Shows the wood off very well. Keep 'em coming.

Thank you John, but I didn't mark it out, the blank was given to me by a Canadian wood buying customer (I didn't have any honey locust at the time, and he had a lot). He DID do an excellent job, which I only noticed when I actually turned it.
The blank was 17 inches in diameter and just the right thickness when I started, and I used a face plate on the top surface for the first time (instead of just between centers), to turn the bottom and a tenon/spiggot. The dimensions and cutting of the blank were so well considered that I got this!
