Kawaiisu Basket Illusion

The Kawaiisu lived near the southern Sierra Nevada mountains in the Tehachapi Valley and surrounding areas. Excellent basket makers, the Kawaiisu twined and coiled a variety of implements and containers for harvesting, food preparation and storage. Here's my basket illusion rendition of a Kawaiisu basket. It's 14.5" diameter, maple, pyro'd, and dyed with India inks.
