Kaleidoscope

12 inches long by 10 inches high, Tube is Culrata rosewood, base is Red Mallee burl, spindle is Grandadillo. tube end holding the oil cell in is Curly Kiatt.
this is my first attempt to make on, the front end does rotate to spin the oil cell
Very nice spindle work. We don't see that very often, I think because it's difficult to do it as well as this. It looks like the tube might rotate on the spindle.
 
1st time doing a Spindle! I couldn't figure out how to match the angles on two round objects so I put a ball on the end and epoxied it when I got the right angle, cheating I know! 1st one made!
