Eye of The Storm

From my 'Gifts From Ike' series. When I was discussing turning, specifically my fear of turning something large on the lathe with a couple of guys in my club , Larry Zarra, Jerry Bennett - they suggested that I just get over it and DO IT. LOL - this is the result.

Largest thing I have turned to date - piece is spalted Pecan-create, about 26 inches in diameter. It has been turned , carved and burnt. Left some of the bark on it - burnt that too, wanted a primal rustic look to it.
very nice, "they suggested that I just get over it and DO IT. " i am still trying to get my nerve up, it reminds me of pre-conversations in elementary school
