"Don't Rush Me!"

I turned this urn several years ago and it has been sitting on the bench 98% complete. I was toying with piercing it but the muse never arrived so it finally became an exercise in coloring. I don't have particularly good results dyeing wood so often I will flavor the finish instead. This is several colors of Pearl Ex dry powder dye mixed with Behlen lacquer applied with a Preval sprayer. I am happy with how the figure shows through. The vessel was finished with 8 additional coats of clear lacquer, sanded to 2000g and polished. An absolute bear to photograph.. I needed a sabot for the glass stopper to fit it to the opening and after a failed attempt at a wooden ring Karen suggested a dark blue/green Alumilite cast ring. Turned out to be a great idea as hers usually are.
