Distortion in Red Oak

These 3 goblets were turned once to a wall thickness between 0.03 inches or 0.75 MM and 0.06 inches or 1.5MM. The small tree was about 4 inch or 100MM diameter at near ground level and cut down in it's dormant stage. The inside of the cup was shear scraped (burred scraper) and wet sanded and the outside was shear scraped and lightly sanded. The lacquer finish was applied with out any additional sanding.
