Copper Leaves

Copper Leaves

Myrtlewood bowl with a kiln-formed glass insert. 14" diameter. The leaves are cut from copper foil and then fused between layers of glass.
I like this one also. How is the glass held in place? It looks like the ring around the glass is a seperate piece.

Paul,
The ring around the glass is a separate piece (madrone in this case). I turn it with a lip to cover the very edge of the glass and then glue the ring into the main bowl. I leave enough room for the wood to expand/contract without putting pressure on the glass, but hold the glass in place with a small amount of silicon adhesive.
