Fractured Vessel

Mike Kagan turned and sliced this little vessel apart, and then reassembled it. I was thrilled when Michael Kehs passed it on to me at one of his Tuesday monthly meetings. Right place, right time.

It's 6" x 4" x 3", walnut, burned, inked, painted and gilded.
This is pretty cool Carol. Soooo, the missing saw kerf created these flat areas for your embellishments? The coloring is great!

Thanks. Yes, Mike cut it apart and offset it when he glued it together. I textured the new plane, and gilded over ink. Then I patina the whole piece with glazes of color.

One of the greatest benefits of the AAW is the barrage of inspiration we receive from fellow members. I am constantly reminded that the only limitations to our work, our lives, for that matter, are the limitations we place on ourselves.

Carol - I really like this piece. Is there any chance you could show us a couple alternate views of it?
