Cherry Burl Bowl

A view of the the feet carved on the bottom of this burl bowl.
Really a gorgeous piece, James.
About those carved feet; what is the general rule for the diameter? I ask because I like the idea especially for pieces turned green, I often feel that they look too small. Yours are well proportioned, imo, but wouldn’t want them any smaller. (Speaking of the spread, not so much the size of each foot.)

Thanks for your comment Marc. I apologize for the late reply, I missed seeing this. I use the size of the tenon as a starting point. I try to leave a little extra wood for the tenon if I want to add feet. I try to use a bigger tenon when I can for both better grip and flexibility of foot design.
