This box turned from an absolutely gorgeous chuck of Masur Birch or Karelian Burl (Betula Pendula var. Carelica) has a few added details from the original one. Turned, hollowed to a little less then an 1/8" wall thickness and sports a domed lid, chamfered rim and true round bottom. Size is 2" in diameter and 1 3/4" tall. Finished with buffed wax, then two coats of gloss lacquer. This box will hopefully be a featured article in an upcoming American Woodturner magazine. This is my favorite wood of all time to work with, as the texture, cutting action, and smell is just great!
