Sycamore hollow piece. Over all size of the piece is 9 inches tall and 5 3/4 inches wide. Hollowed the piece, cut 1/2 inch grove in the center for the rope to lay in. Drilled 3 hole for the bitter ends of the rope to go into. Turned a piece of aluminum and drilled holes in the center, put tennons on it to connect the base to the body. The finial has aluminum base with aycrlic finial on top. Colored the piece and put on high gloss wipe-on-poly
Wow, Gary, there's a lot going on with this piece. I guess one could call this a mixed media exercise. Attention to detail is quite evident. Very nice.
