The woods are Purple Heart and Macassar Ebony. The size is 3" dia x 3.5" tall. A light coat of Danish oil allowed to dry then buffed is the only finish.
Thank you Joe. The slot is cut when the bead is formed. I used a 1/4" beading tool for the bead on the lid and top of the body. The large bead on the bottom was done with a detail gouge and skew.

Chitswood, Thank you. If I could only find Macassar in larger sizes. I dream of the day that I can turn a good size bowl or hollow form from it.
