One in a series of a new idea I'm experimenting with.

I started out cutting staves and adding the protruding elements but I wanted the body to be more uniform. The biggest challenges have been how to resolve the base and keeping the grain direction correct.

Very interesting concept. For me, this shape combination works much better than the round sided bowl.
