What a beautiful, simple, pure form! You really let the awesome figure in the wood speak for itself. Amazing 3-D effect!

Thanks Russ..... :)
Over the years, I've turned quite a few quilted maple bowls, and I don't recall any of them without difficulty getting nice clean cuts without tearout. To be sure, it can be done, and it takes more than sharp tools and good presentation. No question those things are part of the overall equation, but it takes the "spiritual" element, as well. Some people might alternatively call it "the Zen of turning, or "in the zone"......but, to my thinking, this element is an indispensable component of the perfect cut.
"You are getting sleeepy!" (hypnotizing)
Ha,ha.....thanks Sam..... :)

No better compliment for wild wood than an exquisitely simple shape. Well done.

Excellent ... beautiful bowl. High Odie standards as usual. I love QM .. and you let the wood take center stage on this one.
