Carved segmented turning.

9 inches in diameter and stands 3 1/2 in tall. This is my first shot at carving a segmented turning. The woods are sapele, maple and walnut.

Segmented bowl with sunrise feature ring

The sunrise was inspired by details in Malcolm Tibbetts book. Walnut and maple. 12" tall x 11" dia. The walnut came from an old house my in-laws demolished back in the 1950's. As salvaged wood, it is unique because it was probably harvested in the late 1800's or early 1900's...

Maple with walnut feature ring

8-1/2" dia x 5" tall. Maple salvaged from my neighbors wood pile. Walnut feature ring was from some trim my in-laws salvaged from an old house they helped demolish in the 1950's.

Untitled

Poplar and Birdseye Maple. The body is segmented construction using poplar. The top and foot are birdseye maple. Body is textured and painted with a flat black enamel. The top and foot have a tung oil finish. 12" H x 7" D
