Has anybody had experience with a Harvey T 40 lathe?
Thank you
Thank you
Yes, purchased two years ago. Prices have risen since then, but they are offering “free shipping” right now.
Works great!
“Yesterday” was a sale price & free shipping…today it is just the sale price. They change their deals often, so the need to visitlooks like a sale and $349 shipping. No affiliation.
That search feature works pretty well; https://www.aawforum.org/community/threads/pm-2014-or-harvey-t40-lathe-choice.21722/Has anybody had experience with a Harvey T 40 lathe?

Nova has the same setting for catches but it's adjustable through the settings menuYes,
Major pros, it is probably the smoothest and quietest thing I have ever turned on. Smoother than a Robust even, not even kidding. Great for spindles and small projects, love the pivoting headstock that lines right back up accurately afterwards.
Major con- it has some sort of deal in the parameters of the inverter or something (I'm guessing as a safety feature to hit the brakes when a newbie gets a big catch) that also triggers when I'm doing heavy hogging on green wood. To be fair, I never have pursued contacting support to see if that can be tuned out, I just use my bigger lathe for the big heavy stuff.
As has been already said, Harvey is always switching it up with the deals, get on their mailing list and wait a month or two if you're interested.
Pretty good deal. Now that I've ordered a Rikon 1824, I'm glad I didn't go with the Harvey. That extra 4" is the difference I think I will need in the future.looks like a sale and $349 shipping. No affiliation.
