"Weeds on the Wind"

On New Years Eve, 2019 a freak windstorm combined with an epic crop of tumbleweeds to seal up and close Highway 240 north of Richland WA burying several cars and occupants and requiring highway department intervention to free them. "Tumblegeddon" entered the lexicon and Wikipedia. It just seemed that somewhere in all that was a sculpture just waiting to emerge. Box Elder turned, hollowed, carved and textured. Steel tubing and wire create the funnel and a nice slab of local basalt the base. 18" x 12" x 11"
Thank you for looking!
A great tribute to the power of mother nature! Your sculpture suggests possible tornadic winds.

Being from the southwest, I know about tumble weeds; even made yard decorations with them. Had no idea they were that far north.
