Trefoil Knot #2

Trefoil Knot #2

Walnut

This my second attempt at a trefoil knot. Just like Trefoil #1, I started with the same Sketchup model. Except this one looks more like a traditional knot. But instead of having the leg ends meet at a point, I made a fillet between the straight sections. Again, I started with staved tubes. But for the curved section, I clamped the tube onto my 24 segment table saw sled, and cut the tube just as if it were flat stock, flipping it over for each cut.

Gluing up the final assembly had me pulling my hair out. But with patience, and gazillions of rubber bands, it came together.
