Topper

This hollow form vessel is turned from end grain, fiddle back maple. The spalt lines are drawn on using a Sharpie pen. It approximately 6 inches tall by 5 inches wide. The topper is turned from maple and painted black.

All comments and critiques are welcomed and appreciated. Especially in regards to the topper.
Joe, the vessel form is superb. My feeling is the topper may detract from the overall form. It's hard to tell without seeing it without the topper.
