Schubert Vase

I had a chunk of Schubert chokecherry laying in my shop for a few years, so decided to make whatever I could. Got a couple of design ideas from the folks on WoW that helped the form shape. It had a couple of shallow cracks that I tied together with pieces of maple in biscuit joiner slots. Sanded to 400, then two coats of Danish oil applied with 1500 wet-dry sandpaper. The black area is Waterclear epoxy with black dye powder. Final size about 8-1/2" tall, the top is about 4" dia and the widest is about 5-1/4" dia.
