Mountain Ash

This very pretty wood was given to me and I thought it was dry. A couple months after turning the bowl, cracks appeared! What you see is my attrempt to hide the cracks by using a wood burning tool. About 8 1/2" x 5 1/2".
I'd appreciate any comments, good or bad.
