Maple box

Here's a 9"x3.75" box with cocobola lid and finial. Wood came from a neighbor's tree that was failing for several year's and he gave it to me. The disease it had gives it a spaulded color and has been one of my favorites to work with. Thanks to everyone who takes the time to submit there work on this forum. It's a great connector for all of us.
Gary & ooc,

Thanks for the comments.
The finish is 600 sanding in and out,
EEE, than 4-coats of minwax antique.
My process for buffing on lighter colored woods is to use Don Pencils buffing compound after the four coats are cured, skip the tripoli for chance of color change. I only will use wax if I can't reach the level the piece needs. No wax on this one. This maple was very hard and finished out better than normal.
