Life Cycle

A piece that was inspired by a scanning electron image of the egg of a Monarch butterfly. These eggs are only about 1.2 mm tall, but a SEM can capture exquisite detail on the smallest objects. After turning and carving the box, I couldn't help but add the other phases of the Monarch life cycle.

Maple, acrylics, rare earth magnets, epoxy and Krylon Fixatiff.
5.5"H x 4.5" D
