I rarely make functional work but this bowl was a nice change of pace. Myrtle base, curly maple lid with mountain mahogany finial.
Very nice! I'd never heard of mountain mahogany before and thought it might just be a local name till I looked it up. Nice touch.

Thanks Sam - Mountain mahogany is one of the few fine grained timbers we have here in New Mexico (The land of no trees). To bad a big tree is 4 inches in diameter.
