Feathers like Soilders

Feathers like Soilders

This is the biggest hollow form I have made being 300mm 12 inches high
I posted this in a progress report earlier on
Probably one of the most time consuming as well I lost count of the hours in this
I intended to carve and detail in my leaf design but decided feathers would look better
Yes feathers have been done before and I wish to thank those that may have influenced by inspiration
For an added bit of mystery I pierced through every alternative intersection of feather
When you look inside (dead smooth) light rays play tricks
I like this piece but did loose the form a bit as she is to full in the belly
Sits on 3 feathered feet, airbrushed with 7 varying translucent paints
Comments welcomed as always
The textures and colors are spot on. It is one of those pieces that you just want to pick up and feel the texture. Love it.

Yes, you are a patient man, Terry. Very nice work on those feathers. The paint is beautiful as well.

I can't imagine how much time you must have put into that. I'm with Alan its a piece you just want to hold. Well done.

Hi Terry,
a nice work indeed. May be a new title: "Tarred and feathered" ?
