Dyed silver maple box....

Dyed silver maple box....

A piece of silver maple turned into a box shape inspired by Richard Raffan's spire series and dyed. The box is 2 3/4" in diameter and 5" tall.
Mike, I like this, and have looked at it a couple of times. The finial looks practical, but somehow seems like it doesn't quite fit. It has my eyes going in another direction other than the shape of the box itself.

I've done a few boxes, mostly for gifts. And I find your shapes inspiring.

I like this design very much and the only thing about the finial I'm not sure about is the concave upper surface. All goes to show you can please some of the people, some of the time...

Keep up the good work,

Bob

Michael, Reminiscent of a Richard Raffan box. I totally agree. The concave finial reciprocates the arc of the body of the box. Nicely done.
