Dixie

This piece was done as an exercise in tool control with the intent of turning it uniformly as thin as I could until I it came apart, but somehow it survived. It was painted with metallic copper on the inside to prevent transluscency, airbrushed dyes on the outside with 8-10 coats of spray laquer, 0.82mm thick when done.

Turned from kiln dried maple endgrain orientation, approximately 4 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches. It weighs only 12 grams and named after the Dixie Cup.
