Live edge spalted maple bowl

Live edge spalted maple bowl

8” x 3.5”; sanded to 400, no finish

Spent the better part of a humid Georgia afternoon last summer hauling pieces of this fallen maple up a steep embankment in hopes that it would yield something usable. Really happy with the spalting, so seems like it was worth the effort 😅

After sanding to 400, decided that I quite liked the natural look of the wood and didn’t want to darken or yellow it with DO. Buffed it with brown tripoli to bring out a little shine.
