Celestial Geode

This hollow form vessel was turned from end grain maple. It measures 6 inches tall and is 5.5 inches wide. It is finished with aniline dyes and wipe-on poly. It was difficult to photograph the dark vessel due to its high gloss finish.

This is a continuation of vessels inspired from Hubble Telescope images. I will have the pleasure of meeting a gentleman who was instrumental in the development of the Hubble Telescope and the Orion project next week. It will be interesting to learn his impression of this series of vessels.
