Catalpa Bowl

This Catalpa bowl is about 17” x 6” and is finished with Danish oil. I took a page from Odie’s playbook and put an item with this bowl to help convey the size. I didn’t have a scrabble block so settled for a pen (5 ½”) that was near by
Really nice bowl, Jim. I know it has to be an optical illusion due to the grain direction, but the rim on the RH side of the photo looks to lean inward and the LH side leans outward. Or maybe it's my old eyes!!! ;)

Thanks, Russ, and Tom!

Tom, I see what you mean so I checked it out. It is a bit of an optical illusion, I think perhaps because of the bold grain and slight slope. I put a yardstick on top and there is a slight inward slope, a little less than 1/8".
