ash bowl with carved rim

An ash bowl with broad carved rim, the carvings and working portion of the bowl enhanced with a gold decor. diameter approx 12"
This was inspired in part by a work of Al Stirt.
all c & c's very welcome - it's how I learn!
Jason,

Very nice. Can you share how you did your carvings? I have struggled with the change in grain direction and when using a carving gouge, ir runs with the grain. When using a high speed rotary tool, I get wood fuzz near the edges. What was your method?

Thanks for sharing.
