Wiring a Gast Vacuum Pump

I have a Gast 220v pump, and need to wire a switch into it. Can anyone tell me what kind of switch and wire to use. Thanks.

You want a DPST (for two hot leads on 220) switch which any "real" hardware store such as Ace will carry. I have my Gast mounted on a piece of plywood and wired in the switch next to it. I used a piece of 12 wire
