I just received this week's Woodworking Network e-Journal and it was announced that Walter Meier AG of Switzerland, owner of Jet and Powermatic Tools, is in the process of being sold to another investment company, Tenex of New York.
The deal will close by October 31st.
Have a read of the following article for more details:

I have no idea if there will be any effect on operations of Jet and Powermatic Tool manufacturing, customer service, parts, or sales operations, but may be something that woodturners want to keep an eye on. There are thousands and thousands of Powermatic and Jet lathes being used around the world, and as a single source, these brands may constitute one of most significant inputs of machinery into the woodturning community.
I thought you might want to have a heads-up about this!
Have a great day!!
