I wanted to give a big thank you, to the Costal Bend Woodturners Club of Texas, for welcoming my wife and myself, as visitors while we were in Texas for a few months of vacation this winter. Not only were we able to attend two of their meetings, we also visited one of their members ranches, had many offers to visit members shops, brought back wood that I have no access to here in Wisconsin, and was graciously given to us by club members, and over all, just had a very memorable time. We really look forward to the possibility of vacationing to that area, and visiting them again sometime.
When traveling and if the timing permits, I encourage all members to look up a club in the area they will be in and arrange a visit.

That's one of the benefits of the directory. When you get to travel you can look up and see if there are any members in the area. Send them an e-mail or give them a call. I've met a couple of really great people doing that.
You can also find out where clubs are and when they meet. We love to have new people at our clubs , we git tired of picking on the old members and need new fodder. 🙂 It seems like the visitors are always the ones that win the wood we raffle off as well.

Traveling and learning

This has been one of the real pleasures of my wood turning experience. I never leave Texas without my directory and a couple pieces of mesquite. This has been my ticket to the homes and shops of some of the finest people I have ever met. I would highly recommend it!! I have even been invited back to demo.
