After almost a month-long wait, I got my new toy. I finally received my new Vicmarc VM150. I was a tiny bit disappointed to see that it comes with tiny jaws, the regular jaws of the VM120. Why would you make a behemoth of a chuck and sell it with tiny jaws? Had I know I would have said send it with larger jaws. To be fair, I did see a picture of it, I assumed they match the chuck in size. I immediately installed the "larger" jaws for a VM120, I believe they are 100 mm, and they even look small, LOL
I wonder if anybody has a VM150, what jaws do you have? I'm thinking of getting jaws the size of the body, 150mm.
 
From where did you buy the chuck? What did the product description state was to be included with the chuck?
 
I bought mine as chuck body only, since I already had the "standard" jaws, as well as several larger sizes. I've got the 105 and 128 mm jaws, which seem big enough for anything I can mount on a 26" lathe. Of course I don't generally find beautiful pieces of wood as large as you routinely seem to have!

For me the biggest brain training exercise with the 150 is not trying to close the jaws by turning the socket that engages and disengages the rapid close mechanism.
 
I bought mine at Hartford AAW symposium. I saw that the jaws were small so I requested purchasing without jaws. The difference was only $30. So I own the stock jaws, 5”,7”,9” dovetail jaws and 3.5 ” tower shark jaws. I picked up the VM120 recently. The 7 and 9 work great for large platters. The quick release feature is handy but some times I forget which key it is. I marked it and refresh it with red magic marker.
 
Also own a VM150. In no way am I disappointed, I just very rarely experience any added value compared to my VM120s.
One surprising (to me) use where it excels:
It supports my very large Cole jaws really well. Due to the added supported surface, I guess.
