Vicmarc and Vega 2600 owners

You also might want to ask around in your local club. Don't be surprised if you find one and not the other.

I know Bill Grumbine has (had) a Vega, and he lives in Penn

Bill will be at the Tennessee Association Symposium on the 28th. If you attend you could probably ask him. If you look me up I'll introduce you. Ask any of the directors and they can point you to me.
I've turned on both but only briefly. If I remember correctly the biggest difference was the size of bowl that could be turned. The Vega is larger. The Vicmarc is an excellent lathe and hard to beat. The Vega is a good lathe but I don't think it's quite up there with the Vicmarc. However both are decent tools.
