Recently moved and finally got lathe wired up today, however when I turned on the VFD 2 little square red lights lit up and when I shut down the code LU came up.

Lathe runs in forward and reverse but VFD makes a funny noise when it shuts down.

Any ideas gratefully accepted, thank you, Trevor

Trev, has anyone got back to you yet?
I'll do some digging if you still need help.
I have a new 300 and it is very quiet.

Undervoltage?

Trevor,

I looked it up in the manual for the inverter "LU" means that the frequency inverter got shut down due to undervoltage. It shows on page 19 on the attaced PDF manual for the inverter. Please check to see if this is the inverter type you have to confirm this is correct.

Hope this helps,
Adam.

Thanks for the help

I got a reply from an Aussie site and the boys down under figured it was normal.

I have the FVR-E11S-7/7JE inverter and the booklet is about 60 pages of the tiniest writing (I need the magnifier to even read it) and so technical it is all Geek to me.

The manual you linked to is much easier to understand.

The LU code comes up when I shut down the inverter so that makes sense as it looses power and the little red lights indicate the read out is showing RPM; that's if I understand the manual.

The noise sounds like the fan running down but it sounds a bit rough but trying to get at it is going to be fun.

Trevor
