The vacuum gauge in my Oneway system so longer returns to "zero". Can the individual adjust the gauge or must it be returned to big brother for service? The most obvious solution is to ignore the needle and just use the unit as is.:cool2:

Just use it

Mine doesn't zero out anymore either. It is a good one too. Oil filled gauge from Grainger that I paid about $30 for.

My opinion is that it is more important to have a general idea of how much vacuum you're getting than accuracy to the specific inch of mercury.

Assuming you have the same gage I have, on the top of it there is a small lever that rotates from right to left or perheps it's left to right. In one position, it allows the needle to go to zero.

My gauge is oil-filled. It has a small black rubber grommit in the top with a tiny pin-hole in it. This allows the gauge to register the 'outside' atmospheric pressure and compare it with the 'inside' reduced pressure. Sometimes the little hole gets blocked and when that happens the gauge doesn't quite return to zero. Cleaning the hole in the grommit is all that's needed if yours is this type.
