In liu of a response from Oneway, can anyone tell me if you need to purchase a complete new base set or are the posts available separately ? If they are available separately, only from Oneway? Thanks for any help.

If you are asking about buying individual components of the Oneway coring rig, yes you can, but call them directly using their 800 number. Using email is slow and sometimes may be put on the back burner if they are busy and responding to a message may mean typing a lengthy response or they may need calarification about what you are wanting. Phone conversations get immediate answers and everything can be easily cleared up if there are questions.

I will have to go out to the shop and check... I went from the 3520 to the Beauty a while back. I always use the McNaughton, but have the Oneway for demonstration purposes. The Oneway system is made for their big lathe, which has a 24 inch throw, so moving up to 25 inches should be no problem, only 1/2 inch more, unless you have the posts for the 16 inch lathes. They are way too short.

Off topic, but the swing on my AB is 25 1/2 inches. It's the older style headstock and tailstock and I think that Brent mentioned that the newer design has a slightly different swing.

Robo, I got mine used and don't really know which base it is. It works fine on a 3520 but the knives are adjusted up somewhat and they sit on steel pucks down inside the tubes. I might have to order new tubes and will have to call Oneway at some point. I was reluctant to call and say I'm upgrading to a Robust ( to someone at Oneway) and need ......but I suppose it's nothing new to them.

You can add onto the post that is inside the tubes. My main concern would be having 2 or so inches inside the vertical tube. So, put it on the lathe, and lift the cutting knife up to cutting height, mark and measure.

I was almost tempted by a Oneway as they are fine lathes, but the Robust has a sliding headstock, which I love, and Oneway doesn't. I don't think they have even considered a sliding headstock. And, Robust is made in the USA.

Robo, I'm planning to buy the new components to get the additional height. The lower ones might get re purposed for some sort of hollowing tool support rests.

Peter, that's a good idea. After all, the equipment is beefy, and why not get multiple use.
