Turning southern style 18-20 Sept, Dalton Ga http://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/event?oeidk=a07eaiqmtuj00d8d92b&llr=9atcwcjab

Rocky Mountain symposium 18-20 Sept, Loveland, co

Swat has frequent forum contributer Dick Gerard I suspect our moderators Steve and Bill will be there

The Georgia symposium has John Luca a frequent contributor
In his spare time John is key member of the WOODTURNER TURNING FUNDAMENTALS COMITTEE.

I encourage all turners to attend AAW symposium and regionals too

Attending a regional symposium is a great way to spend a weekend. A great way to have fun and expand your skill and view of the turning work
The people you meet, the instant galleries, trade shows, demonstrations, have about a months worth of things to see in 3 days so you have to be selective.

Also Swat has the best beads of courage gallery I have seen.

Thanks for starting this Al. The Rocky Mountain Woodturning Symposium has fourteen demonstrators this year. Glen Lucas, Betty Scarpino, David Ellsworth, Merryll Saylan, Janice Levi, Ron Day, Sam Angelo and many more. Check the web site for the rest of the list, more information and registration. The deadline for early registration discount is approaching fast. I hope to see you there.

I will be at SWAT and have a minion character almost finished for Beads of Courage. I will also have a few pieces for the instant gallery.

Steve is always there ready to fulfill everybody's sanding needs.

I enjoyed meeting you there last year although time was too brief to visit for more than a few minutes. I hope to see Andy Chen. He's been busy galloping around the world and helping to spread woodturning goodwill.

There is always so much to do at SWAT that three days isn't enough to do everything that I would like to do.

Three of the demonstrators this year are members of my club, the Woodturners of North Texas.

Wish that you could be there.

I'm going to be in Loveland, CO for the Rocky Mountain symposium. I have just started working for North Woods Figured Wood and this will be my first show. The owner is going to show me the ropes and I'm looking forward to meeting some of you face to face. Stop by our booth and introduce yourself. I'll be the guy with the deer in the headlights look on my face. The hardest thing for me will be missing out on the classes. What an awesome lineup for this show. I guess my next show will be in Ohio in October. I'll be making stops along the way back to Oregon at a few AAW clubs to sell some stuff so I'll get to see a few more of you.

You bet I'll be there, Bill. Looking forward to visiting with you. Yeah, I enjoyed meeting Al at last year's SWAT symposium, too.

You are absolutely right that 3 days is too short for these events. I missed seeing Al, among others, in Pittsburgh.

You guys have fun at SWAT.
One problem with the AAW is with so many people you can connect well with a few not miss so many.
