My woodfast lathe has been down for 6 weeks,and I was going crazy.
First it was the converter, fixed ,replaced it and nothing. Next sent it back, they replaced it with a new converter,replaced it and it worked. I put on a large 60 lb. block and started roughing it out and PUFF-out again.
Sent it back, they repaired it, told me to have the motor reworked- sent it out, replaced brushes and bearing, replaced that and FINALLY it seems to be working.
I hesitate to throw another big block on it for fear of another shutdown.
I am catching up on small things for the next couple of days before trying the big stuff. Wish me luck. Gary

You might as well give it the biggest and baddest block right now! That's the only way you will have confidence the motor is going to do what it needs to do somewhere down the road.

The original Woodfast, the one made in Australia, is a great machine, and well worth doing whatever it takes to keep it running......
