My choice for this week’s TOTW is “Bottle with Tendril” by Heather Marusiak.

This creative piece ticks all the boxes for me. The form, carving, texture and coloring are so well done – and the carved foot/base is just icing on the cake. I was pretty sure this would be my selection as soon as I saw it. Thanks, Heather, for making my job easier this week.

Good choice, Tom. As you say, this piece is very original and very well done. It does make my hair stand on end as my lizard brain responds to it--but the point of art is to generate an emotional response, eh?

Excellent choice! We have such a big pool of talent that it is not easy to choose just one! Congratulations Heather!! I would attend a demo to see how you did this!! Inspiring work. Aloha.
Thank you, Emiliano! Maybe a little down the road, once I refine my technique, I’ll have a bit more confidence to get in front of others. I’m still doing a lot of fumbling around at this point, getting lucky with a piece every once and a while. As with everything, just need to keep putting in the work.
