My selection for Turning of the Week of May 15, 2023, is “First Light, First Song" by Ronald Campbell.

This is the latest in a series of bird sculptures that Ronald has posted this year. Earlier ones include “Chicklet” and “Looney Bird”. Skillfully carved and painted into a wonderful blend of whimsy and life likeness make them call to bird lovers. I like birds and wood and sculptures so I have to like this beauty. Brings a smile and more.

I really enjoy this series and the surprise each new piece brings ... congrats, Ron! Probably illegal to have as much fun as you are having with these.
Good choice, Al.

Congratulations Ron on the Turning of the Week honor!

Ron is a member of the Grand River Woodturning Guild. He will be demonstrating his process for making these birds at our monthly meeting, 9 am, May 20 (this Saturday). If you'd like to attend the Zoom meeting, start a "conversation" with me, (Private Message) and tell me your email address. I'll make sure you get a Zoom invitation.

Just a reminder that Ron will be demonstrating how he makes these avian creatures at the Saturday meeting of the Grand River Woodturners Guild. If you're interested, send me a private message (conversation) with your email address and I'll send you the link to the Zoom meeting.
