My choice for TOTW for December 12th, 2022 is “2080 Very Curly Sequoia Redwood” by Odie.

Kelly Odell (Odie) makes many fine bowls. His attention to detail and use of beautiful woods from around the world are the norm for his work. But, this curly redwood bowl just seems to scream out … “Pick me” for TOTW. I also like the pleasing curve of the unadorned underside that showcases the beautiful grain. Well done, sir.

I'm always hesitant, as I'm sure the other TOTW Team members are as well, to choose another team member's piece for TOTW....just because.
But, sometimes .... you just gotta do it !!! 🙂

I've been thinking the same thing, Tom......

I'll take the honor, if it comes......but, since I'm on the TOTW staff, I do tend to feel a little guilty about being selected. OTOH, I have no problem selecting a great turning from one of the other TOTW members, but that fact will have absolutely nothing to do with the reason I chose them for TOTW......as should be the case. This isn't about scratching each other's backs......it's solely about picking out a TOTW that has appeal.

The work speaks for itself, regardless of the maker!! Worthy is worthy enough!!
